Start Smart will provide residential new construction professionals the latest information on reliable, cost-effective, energy-efficient technologies and incentives with the goal of smoothly integrating them into the home building process. Attendees will learn from and network with others already successfully implementing these technologies. With three concurrent tracks, attendees will choose the sessions that are most applicable to their future projects, engaging with multiple experts to drive down the cost of ownership and the carbon impact of newly built homes.

There are three concurrent tracks where attendees will:

  • Learn more about how clean energy solutions improve home performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Understand how to maximize incentives to improve project economics.

  • Engage with other industry professionals to ensure install quality and compatibility through best practices and case studies.

  • Earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for: AIA, ASHRAE, BPI, CSL, HERS, LEED, PHIUS

Air source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, solar PV, and solar thermal for new construction projects is the focus of the workshop. All technologies discussed are cost-effective, readily deployable, and will continue to play a larger role in the Massachusetts marketplace.
